Richard Tucker, Founder, Impact of the Arts
Since 2008, Richard Tucker has served underprivileged communities as a music instructor at various charter schools and nonprofit organizations in Philadelphia. He is a professional guitarist with over 30 years of experience. As a way of giving back, he shares his music and life experience as an instructor. Along with his music instruction, he incorporates enrichment, life skills, and mentoring. His focus is to create a positive and enjoyable environment for the students while sharing the gift of music. It’s important to Richard that his students become functional in this diverse world. Richard was a liberal arts major at Temple University and attended Lyons Technical Institute, earning a certificate in computer science.
Kimyatta Chaney
Co-Founder, Impact of the Arts
The author, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the mother of two sons, Vaughn and Jaidyn, and a granddaughter, Indigo. She is a retired police officer, now venturing into children's literature with her debut work, What Animal Is That? Inspired by her granddaughter, Indigo Lila Chaney, her series Indigo Lila’s Whimsical World: Tales of a Tiny Trailblazer captures whimsical escapades, promising warmth, love, and thrilling journeys. Beyond law enforcement, Kimyatta brings versatility with experiences in acting and business ownership.
In addition to her literary pursuits, she is the co-founder of Impact of the Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering inner-city children through the universal language of the arts. With a wealth of experience working with the public and serving the community, she brings invaluable insights to the organization. Having worked extensively with children throughout her career, including serving as a youth advocate, she has helped guide young people towards positive paths. Guided by a vision of creating safe, nurturing environments rich with opportunities, Impact of the Arts infuses hope, confidence, and ambition into young minds, helping them transform their communities and inspire global change.
Kimyatta is also a skilled business administrator with a strong background in management. She handles all administrative tasks at Impact of the Arts, ensuring the organization runs smoothly. In addition, she has created and designed the organizations website, brochures, flyers and fact sheet including its content and manages the social media pages. She has extensive expertise in management and has run a successful businesses in Philadelphia as well as worked with various businesses to streamline their operations. Her commitment to making the arts accessible to all children drives her work at Impact of the Arts, where she strives to create sustainable programs that make a lasting impact.
